This was the best interactive meeting with a physician this year. He did what I hoped all would do: explain his observations and how they point toward diagnosis. He explained what steps could be taken, which he preferred, and also talked about how this issue fits in with others and the treatment other doctors are providing. It was all around the most professional yet kind discussion of my health I've experienced at Vanderbilt in months.

Dr McGuirk thoughtfully listened and made me feel heard. I appreciated his willingness to hear me out and answer my questions. He felt genuinley engaged and cared about my experience and issues.

Dr. McGiurk,Jr was a pleasure to speak with about my health. He was genuine, knowledgeable, concerned about my needs, and most importantly to me seemed to have read my chart and was knowledgeable about my conditions prior to us speaking. He was personable, had a sense of humor, but took my condition seriously and listened. In so far that he repeated back to me, later in our conversation, things that most doctors never pick up. He even took into consideration my concerns and thoughts about how I would be able to handle the test he was suggesting. This was one of the best first visits I've had with a doctor In a while.
