Pediatric Orthopaedics

U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks us as a top children’s hospital in the nation for orthopedic care.

For children with injuries, our full-service outpatient clinic provides imaging, casting services, referrals and consultations for physical and occupational therapy.

We offer some patients the EOS X-ray imaging system. It uses ultra-low radiation doses (up to 50 times lower depending on the scan type) to capture 2D and 3D images. Children who need frequent scans for their conditions are exposed to far less radiation over their lifetimes.

Our providers are all specialty trained in pediatric sports medicine or pediatric orthopedic surgery. This expertise means the best possible care for your child. Other programs and services we provide include general orthopedics and fracture care; care for scoliosis, cerebral palsy, spasticity and osteogenesis imperfecta; and a hip preservation clinic.

Monroe Carell takes care of your child – the whole child. A problem with your child’s bones or joints might bring you to our pediatric orthopaedic team. If your child has other needs, we work with Vanderbilt specialists in rheumatology, neurology, neurosurgery, developmental medicine and endocrine/diabetes care.

As an academic medical center, research is part of our mission. Our research scientists work with experts around the world to discover clues that help develop newer, more effective treatments. And those discoveries help us improve the quality of your care.
